You can also change a design road by adding a lane or lanes in one direction only.
- Go to the bookmark Road Passing Lane.
- Select the road.
- On the asset card, change the Edit Mode to Lanes Forward.
You set it to style in the previous exercise.
- Note that only one side of the road is selected.
- Increase the number of lanes to 2.
This increases the number of lanes along the whole length of the road.
- Zoom in to see the results.
This is not what you want because the goal is to add a lane along a particular section of the road, not all of it.
- Zoom out and then reduce the number of lanes to 1 again.
- Click the "+" sign to add a lane zone.
- Click to select the point on the road to start the passing lane.
- Click to select the end point.
- Increase the number of lanes to 2.
- Zoom in to see the results.
Now you have a realistic passing lane in a single direction.
- Click away from the road to deselect it.
- Repeat to add a passing lane of the same length to the other side of the road. TIP: Select Lanes Backward.
