To create tooltips for a selection set

Select desired features and create selection set tooltips for those features. Selection set tooltips override data source and feature class tooltips.

1. Click to display the Model Explorer.
2. In the Model Explorer, click the row for the feature class whose tooltip you are creating.

   For example, click Roads.

3. Select the features for the selection set.
   • Click the first feature, then hold down Ctrl and click the remaining features.
4. Click to open Properties Palette.
5. Click in the Tooltip Values field to display and then click the ellipsis dots to open the Edit Tooltip window.
6. Enter Tooltip content.
   • See Create Tooltips for information on formatting Tooltip content.
   • Optionally, Click Preview to see what the Tooltip will look like. Click Return to Editor to revise or finish creating tooltip.
7. Click OK.
8. Click Update in the Properties pallette to put your Tooltips into effect.

Note: If you set Auto Update in Properties Palette, you do not need to open Properties Palette each time you make a change.
