Marking menus appear when you hold a hotkey and click. You can set a hotkey to show one of the pre-made marking menus that come with Maya, or a custom marking menu you have created.
To assign a marking menu to a hotkey
- Select Windows > Settings/Preferences > Marking Menu Editor.
- Click the marking menu in the list.
- Set the Use Marking Menu In option to Hotkey Editor.
- Click Apply Settings.
- Select Windows > Settings/Preferences > Hotkey Editor.
- Type "Marking" in the Hotkey Search By field to view all the marking menus that exist in Maya.
- Click the marking menu in the list.
A text entry field appears beside the name.
- Press a modifier key (Ctrl, Shift or Alt) and select a key for the hotkey.
If the key combination is currently in use, a message in the lower left of the dialog shows the command assigned to the hotkey, and asks if you want to override the current setting.
- Click Save or Save and Close.
