Review and Respond to Communicator Notifications

Notifications ensure that chat and other messages are not missed.

When... In the window header... You should...
you have a new chat message a red badge displays on the Chat view icon

The number indicates how many new chat conversations are awaiting your response.

click the icon to open the Chat view, view the message, and reply.
you have a system message a red badge displays on the Chat view icon

The number indicates how many messages are available for review.

click the icon to open the Chat view, and view the messages.
a contact is synchronizing the active model with the central server the Timeline view icon animates during the sync process. click the icon to open the Active Model panel of the Timeline to review the sync status:
  • Syncing now...
  • Save to central completed.
  • Save to central failed.
  • Save to central cancelled.
  • Long sync time - the process may have failed.
Even when you are not actively working in Revit, you are still notified of new messages. A floating message notification displays in the bottom-right corner of your screen under the following conditions:
  • Revit is open, but is not the active window
  • Revit is active, and you are signed in with an Autodesk ID, but Communicator is not open.
For a chat message notification, click:
  • Reply - Communicator opens the current chat conversation so you can type your response.
  • Ignore - The chat message will be available on the Chat view when you open Communicator.
