About Point Clouds
You can use point clouds to provide the existing condition of a building or site. Use this information as the a starting point for the Revit model.
Insert a Point Cloud File
Insert an indexed point cloud file into a Revit project or convert a raw format point cloud file to the .rcp and .rcs indexed formats.
Change the Color Mode for a Point Cloud
While indexing a raw data point cloud file or inserting an indexed file, Revit determines the default color mode for the point cloud, depending on the color data in the source file. Use a Color Mode option to specify visual settings for a point cloud.
Visibility of Point Clouds
Visibility of point clouds is controlled by view. As such, parameters that control the visibility and graphics of point clouds in a project are grouped under the Point Clouds tab in the Visibility/Graphics Overrides dialog.
Point Cloud Properties
You can use properties to change the scale of a point cloud, and define phasing information.
