Use the Stress Linearization interface to view the values of any of the six global stress tensors along any line defined by any two nodes on your model. This interface is accessed by Results Contours

Stress Linearization in the Results environment after a static stress analysis with linear material models has been performed. Stress linearization is only available for brick, tetrahedral, and 2D elements. The following screen will appear when this command is executed.
The following are the main sections of the screen as labeled above.
- Toolbars - For details on the functions that can be performed by each of these buttons, see Toolbar Definitions.
- Display Area - This area will show the model with the stress tensor results specified by the toolbars. By right-clicking on two nodes, you can define the line that the stress results will be linearized along.
- Graph Area - This area will show a graph of the stress results along the stress classification line (SCL) defined. This area will only be active after an SCL is defined. For details on the functions that can be performed in this area, see the Graph Area.
- Linearization Controls - The controls in this section will be used to define the orientation of the SCL that the stress is linearized along. See Linearization Controls for more details.
- Status Bar - This bar lists the statistics of the model.
Note: The results shown in Stress Linearization use the Model Units. Activating a different Display Units before accessing
