Three different broadgood type materials can be modeled using Fabric Builder. These material types are Random Continuous Mat, Woven Fabric, and Stitched Fabric. To start building a fabric, navigate to . This will display the window shown below.
In this first window, select one of three fabric types:
- Random Continuous Mat - Randomly oriented chopped fibers.
- Woven Fabric - Tows/bundles of fibers are woven together in a repeating pattern.
- Stitched Fabric - Layers of unidirectional composites are stitched together.
