Choose from several useful utilities to aid in composite structural design.
There are nine available utilities to choose from under the Utilities module.
- Vf - Wf Converter: Calculate lamina Fiber/Matrix Weight % from Fiber/Matrix Volume % or vice versa.
- Winding Calculator: Designed to model filament wound layups, this utility automatically calculates individual ply thicknesses for filament wound composites. Calculated ply thicknesses can be used to simplify the input for the Laminate form (Create a New Laminate).
- Fabric Thickness: Calculate the thickness of a single ply based on fiber volume fraction/areal weight, and void volume.
- Roving Converter: Calculate cross-sectional areas, yield, denier, lineal density, Tex, and deciTex for a roving process.
- Radius of Curvature: Calculate the radius of curvature and the inverse radius of curvature of a laminate due to thermal or moisture load.
- Laminate Survey: Calculate the elastic properties and strengths of laminates composed of various percentages of 0° plies, 90° plies, and ±45° plies of a specified lamina material.
- Fabric Builder: Model lamina and laminates representing various random, woven, and stitched fabrics.
- Optimize Lamina for MCT: Optimize lamina fiber and matrix properties so the MCT failure criteria can be run on the lamina.
- Export Material: Export lamina and laminates for use in various finite element analysis (FEA) applications.
