You can access the
Contact Options dialog from two places:
- Double-click the
Contact (Default:___) heading in the browser (tree-view), or right-click the heading and choose
Edit Settings.
- Double-click an explicitly defined contact pair heading in the browser, or right-click the heading and choose
Edit Settings.
The contents of the
Contact Options
dialog depend on several factors:
- The analysis type
- The contact type setting
- Whether you are accessing the dialog from the default contact heading or an explicit contact pair heading
Using the drop-down menu at the top of the
Contact Options
dialog, you can choose one of the following three options:
- SimMech contact options: Access the settings applicable to solutions run using the native Autodesk Simulation Mechanical solver.
- Nastran contact (CONTACTGENERATE) options (applicable to the default contact type when supported in Autodesk Nastran): Access the default contact settings applicable to solutions run using the Autodesk Nastran solver (CONTACTGENERATE parameters).
- Nastran contact (BSCONP) options (applicable to explicit contact pairs for contact types supported in Autodesk Nastran): Access the default contact settings applicable to solutions run using the Autodesk Nastran solver (BSCONP parameters).
Note: When a particular contact type is not supported in Nastran, the
SimMech contact options
mode is automatically activated, and the drop-down menu is inaccessible.
Please see one of the available reference topics (using the links below) for the SimMech-specific or Nastran-specific options.
