Migrating and Transferring Custom Settings Comparison

The migration and transfer utilities improve the process of upgrading to a new release along with the sharing of custom settings and files on multiple computers. The custom settings and files that each of the migration and transfer utilities processes varies.

The following table lists the custom settings and files that are migrated or transferred each time you use Customization Sync (to transfer settings online between computers), Export/Import Settings (to transfer settings offline between computers running the same release of the program), or Migrate Custom Settings utility (to migrate settings between releases).
