Factory Design Utilities 2017 includes workflow improvements and utilities to seamlessly link conceptual, 2D/3D, visualization, communication, and data management tools for manufacturing facility planning.

New features are designed to streamline workflows and increase flexibility:
- Copy matching parameter values to replaced assets
- Simplify assets by saving as mesh or shrinkwrap
- Make changes to the 2D representation when publishing a 3D asset
- Include key parameter expressions in asset property definitions
- Control which asset properties display in AutoCAD
- Enter descriptors in asset properties
- Search for asset properties in AutoCAD
- Select a layer, measure distance, and sort properties alphabetically in the AutoCAD Factory Properties browser
- Move assets between folders and asset libraries
- Use Select to locate same or similar assets
- Delay tooltip display
- Designate the layer in which text annotations appear in AutoCAD

New Vault features provide flexible and enhanced data management and storage capabilities, including additional uses/where used, search, and query functions.
