Exporting electrodes for EDM

When your electrode model is ready to be sent for machining or inspection, you must export the electrode information. The output of the export is dependent on which manufacturer script you select on the Export Options page of the Electrode wizard.

To export electrodes:

1. Select the electrodes.
2. Right-click an electrode, and select an option from the Electrode context menu:
   • Export All — exports all the electrodes in the model.
   • Export Selected — exports the selected electrodes in the model.

   The Export Options page of the Electrode wizard is displayed.

3. Use the options on the Export Options page of the Electrode wizard to define the:
   • EDM data-transfer files.
   • Inspection points for PowerInspect.
   • File format for the exported geometry.
   • Export directory.
4. Click the Ellipsis button to display the EDM Export Selection dialog.
5. Select the appropriate manufacturer script for your electrode.

   

Tip: If necessary you can modify the scripts to customise the output of the exported EDM files.
6. Click OK.
7. Click Finish.
