When you design a structural model, the structural connections for elements depend on many factors beyond their purpose of joining elements.
These factors often include the standards of the contracted engineer, the contractor, or the fabricator. Even the type of structure will influence the type of connection.
The purpose of Revit structural connections is to exchange information about the designed connection between engineers, detailers, and fabricators. This data is saved in the project.
By default, connections have very basic parameters regarding identity data and phasing. Add project parameters and shared parameters to the Structural Connections category to include specific information to be stored and shared with project stakeholders.
You can add tags and create schedules for instances of structural connections.
