pymel.core.context.curveEPCtx

curveEPCtx(*args, **kwargs)

The curveEPCtx command creates a new context for creating curves by placing edit points.

Flags:

Long Name / Short Name Argument Types Properties
bezier / bez bool ../../../_images/create.gif ../../../_images/query.gif ../../../_images/edit.gif
  Use bezier curves
degree / d int ../../../_images/create.gif ../../../_images/query.gif ../../../_images/edit.gif
  Curve degree
exists / ex bool ../../../_images/create.gif
Returns true or false depending upon whether the specified object exists. Other flags are ignored.
history / ch bool ../../../_images/create.gif
If this is a tool command, turn the construction history on for the tool in question.
image1 / i1 unicode ../../../_images/create.gif ../../../_images/query.gif ../../../_images/edit.gif
First of three possible icons representing the tool associated with the context.
image2 / i2 unicode ../../../_images/create.gif ../../../_images/query.gif ../../../_images/edit.gif
Second of three possible icons representing the tool associated with the context.
image3 / i3 unicode ../../../_images/create.gif ../../../_images/query.gif ../../../_images/edit.gif
Third of three possible icons representing the tool associated with the context.
name / n unicode ../../../_images/create.gif
If this is a tool command, name the tool appropriately.
preserveShape / ps bool ../../../_images/create.gif ../../../_images/query.gif ../../../_images/edit.gif
Set this flag to make the operation preserve the shape
preserveShapeFraction / pf float ../../../_images/create.gif ../../../_images/query.gif ../../../_images/edit.gif
Fraction value used when preserving the shape
refit / rf bool ../../../_images/create.gif ../../../_images/query.gif ../../../_images/edit.gif
Set this flag to refit the curve
uniform / un bool ../../../_images/create.gif ../../../_images/query.gif ../../../_images/edit.gif
Should the curve use uniform parameterization? Flag can have multiple arguments, passed either as a tuple or a list.

Derived from mel command maya.cmds.curveEPCtx

Example:

import pymel.core as pm

# To create a new context that will create curves of degree 5:
pm.curveEPCtx( degree=5 )
# Result: u'curveEPCtx1' #

# To query the degree of an existing context:
pm.curveEPCtx( 'curveEPCtx1', q=True, degree=True )
# Result: 5 #

# To edit the degree of an existing context:
pm.curveEPCtx( 'curveEPCtx1', e=True, degree=7 )
# Result: u'curveEPCtx1' #
