Working with Sets

Manage and use up to three collections of support action settings in a clipboard-like fashion

About Sets

Sets store values of customized supports so they can be recalled and applied individually during editing existing support entities as well as when placing new support entities manually. A set can store the properties of more than one support type, like volume supports plus bar supports, and whenever any support is created through a method that makes use of sets, the relevant values will be recalled from the set.

Three sets can be loaded at any time, and their values can be imported or exported and stored as files.

To work with sets, you will need to have the support module active.

To Store a Set

  1. Select a support entity, such as a single bar support.
  2. In the context view, switch to the Edit tab.
  3. From the Default values dropdown menu, select any of the three available sets.
  4. Click the set options button next to the dropdown menu, then choose Selection → Set n, with n being the number of the selected set.
Tip: Select multiple support types to store them all at once. However, make sure not to have conflicting supports selected, such as two bar supports with different property values each. Only one of them will be stored.

To Use a Set during Manual Support Creation

Simply keep the set selected in the context view, on the Edit tab, when placing new support entities, either by generating supports through the cluster's context menu, or by manually adding individual support entities.

To Apply a Set to Existing Support

  1. Select the support entity you want to change.
  2. In the context view, switch to the Edit tab.
  3. From the Default values dropdown menu, select any of the three available sets.
  4. Click the set options button next to the dropdown menu, then choose Set n → Selection, with n being the number of the selected set.

To Manage Sets

Sets can be exported in XML format, imported, and reset to factory defaults by using the respective options in the context view > Edit > set options. It is recommended to export your sets regularly as there is no confirmation whenever overwriting a set with values from a selection or an import.
