Before using
Generative Design in Revit, read the following to learn about some logistics.
- Processing:
Generative Design runs on your local computer, not in the cloud. It uses parallel threads, so it won't block your work in the
Revit model. Memory and CPU are the two factors that most affect performance while outcomes are being generated. While you wait, you can continue to work in
Revit or other applications.
- Memory: In the Explore Outcomes dialog, each thumbnail is a full 3D view that can be explored and navigated independently of the others. Because each outcome consumes a certain amount of memory, there's a limit to the number of outcomes that can display at one time. Use the page numbers in the upper right corner of the dialog to navigate multiple pages of outcomes.
- Managing studies: After creating a study, you cannot copy or edit it. However, you can use the same study type to create a new study with different parameters. Delete the old study if desired.
- Examples: For specific instructions on how to use each of the sample study types, see
Sample Study Types.
