To Customize the Compass Display

Use this procedure to customize the Compass display. As you draw, the Compass guides the direction of your run. It is helpful to use the Compass to align your parts with walls, ceilings, and other architectural elements in the drawing. You can use the Compass Settings dialog box to control tick marks, snap increment, compass diameter, and color.

1. Click View tab MEP View panel Compass .
2. In the Compass Settings dialog box, specify the Compass display:

   If you want to change the…	then…
   diameter of the Compass	enter a value for Compass Diameter.
   display color of the Compass	click , select a color tile or enter the name or number of the color you want to use, and then click OK.
   snap increment	select Enable Snap, and enter a value.
   tick mark increment	select Enable Tick Marks, and enter a value.

   Tip: You can control the number of decimal places, or precision, of the value for the Compass tick mark increment by changing the AutoCAD® Units Precision setting.
