In an assembly, components are often obscured by other components.
A given view of a component may be obscured differently in different instances within the assembly view. As such, hidden lines in one instance of a component may be different from that of another instance. Due to the associative nature of mechanical structure, creating hidden lines (with AM2DHIDE) in one instance, automatically updates all other instances, which is not desirable. In order to avoid this issue, you need to use a special command; AMSHIDE, to create hidden lines in the mechanical structure environment.
Hide situations created by AMSHIDE are listed in the Mechanical Browser. As such, you can store the hide situation with the component the hide situation applies to.
