Section Line Dialog Box (AutoCAD Mechanical Toolset)

Use this dialog box to define how to label the section line and section view.

Identifier Specifies an alphabetic character to name the section line. If the Use continuous naming option is selected in the current section view style, this box shows the first character of the set of consecutive alphabetic characters used to name the section line.

Insert symbol Displays a palette to enable you to insert a special character at the current cursor position. The preview in the drawing area shows the special character, while the dialog box shows the corresponding control key sequence.

Label contents Sets the textual content for the section view label. You can only use the following fields for section view labels. ViewSectionEndId - Evaluates to the ending section line identifier. ViewSectionStartId - Evaluates to the starting section line identifier. ViewType - Always evaluates to "section", when used in a section view label.

Displays the Field dialog box with the field category set to model documentation. When you exit the Field dialog box, the selected field is inserted at the current cursor position within the Label contents box. If the cursor is not within the Label contents box, the entire content of the Label contents box is replaced.

Show identifier at all bends Displays the identifier at all vertices of the section line. If this check box is cleared, the identifier is displayed only at the ends of the section line.

Settings Displays the Modify Section View Styles dialog box, which enables you to configure the defaults for the AMSECTIONLINE command. Note: Some settings in the Modify Section View Styles dialog box do not have an impact on the section line you are editing. They take effect only at the time you create section lines.
