To Set Up the Table Layout for a Parts List (AutoCAD Mechanical Toolset)

  1. At the Command prompt, enter AMOPTIONS.
  2. In the Options dialog box, select the AM:Standards tab.
  3. In the Standard Elements list, double-click Parts List. The BOM Settings dialog box is displayed.
  4. In the Parts List tab, click .
  5. To insert the column headings and title at the top of the table, in the Attach Point list, select Top Left or Top Right. To insert the heading and the title at the bottom of the table, select Bottom Right or Bottom Left.
  6. To insert headings for each part list column, in the Layout section, select the Insert heading check box. You can override this setting while inserting a parts list.
  7. To insert a title line for the parts list, in the Layout section, select the Insert Title check box. You can override this setting while inserting a parts list.
  8. To include a grip frame to display the extents of the parts list, in the Layout section select the Show Grip Frame check box.
  9. To set the spacing between the heading row and the body rows, in the Internal margins section, set the Heading Top margin or the Bottom margin.
  10. To set the spacing between the body rows, in the Internal margins section, set the Data Top margin and/or the Bottom margin as required.
  11. Click OK until all dialog boxes close.
Note: Changes to parts list table layout have no impact on parts lists that exist in a drawing.
