AM: Standards Tab of the Options Dialog Box (AutoCAD Mechanical Toolset)

Use this dialog box to set preferences that are typically governed by a drafting standard.

Standard
	Standard Specifies the drafting standard to be used in the drawing. If you switch the standard, settings for all elements of the standard change accordingly. However, none of the existing drawing objects are affected. Only the new objects you draw follow the new standard. To create a custom standard (user-defined standard), type a name for the standard in this box and press Enter.
	Apply new settings to layers when standard is created or changed Controls if Layer and Object settings change (along with the settings for other elements of the standard) if the standard is switched.
	Measurement Sets the units of measurement to be used in the current drawing. If you change the units, you are prompted to confirm if the system should perform text scaling. No length scaling is performed.
Model Scale Sets the scale to be used for text and symbols for the drawing in model space.
	Use 1:1 Scale in Layout Specifies that a 1:1 scale is used in layout, irrespective of the scale selected for model space. .
	Use Selected Scale in Layout Specifies that the model space scale is used in layout as well.
Default standards template Specifies the template the system picks the standard settings from, in case you open an AutoCAD Drawing (as opposed to an AutoCAD Mechanical toolset drawing) or if you choose to create a drawing without using a template. Note: Only standard dependent settings come from the default template. If no default template is specified, the system automatically selects the most appropriate standard, based on the type of units in the drawing you are opening. If there is a unit mismatch between the default template and the AutoCAD drawing you are opening, the default template setting is ignored and the system behaves as though no default template is specified. If you are creating a drawing without a template, and the units you selected do not match the default template units, the default template setting is ignored and the system behaves as though no default template is specified.
Standard Elements Displays a list of elements of the standard as a tree. They root of the tree shows the current drafting standard. Double-click the root to display a dialog box containing the master settings for the standard. Double-click an element to display its properties. From the properties dialog box, you can override the default settings as well as the settings inherited from the master settings. Overrides are applied only to the objects created under the current drafting standard. For example, if you created a note while the standard was set to ISO, and then switched the standard to DIN, and you then override the text color settings for notes, only the notes created after you switched to DIN are affected. The note you created under ISO does not change color. Tip: To find out what standard an object was created under, display the properties of that object. For some items such as Feature Control Frames, more than one revision of a standard is available. Right click the revision you want to make active and select Set Current. If Set Current is not available, select Insert Standard For some items such as Feature Control Frames, more than one revision of a standard is available. 	Setup Drawing Starts a wizard that enables you to import the settings for the elements of the standard, from an AutoCAD Mechanical toolset drawing template file (*.dwt).
	Right-click menu items
		Remove Makes the selected item unavailable for implementation. For example, if you remove notes, and later on if you invoke the AMNOTE command, a message appears to inform you that the feature is unavailable for the selected standard.
		Settings Displays a dialog box containing the properties for the selected item. This dialog box is used to override the default settings for this item.
		Restore Defaults Removes all overrides for the selected item and resets its properties to the default settings.
		Insert standard Inserts an item that was removed previously. If the item contained overrides before removal, they are not available when you reinsert the item.
