About post-processor files

A post-processor file, also known as a CNC file, converts the toolpaths displayed within FeatureCAM into NC code so you can run them on a specific CNC machine.

When you create NC code, you need to choose the correct post-processor file for the CNC machine on which the program for cutting the part is to be run.

You can use the supported post-processor files native to FeatureCAM (.cnc) for all types of document. In addition, you can use post-processor files native to PowerMill (.pmopt; .pmoptz) and PartMaker (.pst; .sub) for specific types of document.
