Using ETO Deployment Configurator

The Deployment Configurator is a simple utility that allows you to customize a standard Autodesk installer and make final settings to create custom branding. You can save and load your projects. The Deployment Configurator opens with the most recently saved project.

Note: Use the Deployment Configurator to finalize the installer.

ETO Deployment Configurator dialog box

The Deployment Configurator continues where the deployment creation ended. Point to the location of the deployment.

Select Browse and navigate to the deployment folder from your previous deployment.

Project tab

Define the project-specific locations for source material and displays the values set in the deployment.

Project Name is the deployment configuration name built into the deployment.

Application Name is read from the deployment image. Change this name to represent a specific project. The Application Name is used in the branding of the installer and other locations. It contains spaces and Unicode characters. The Application Name does not share the folder name.

Primary Installer is the source location for the installer associated with the Setup.exe file that executes the installation process.

Serial Number is the serial number purchased from Autodesk used for distributing the installed application. The user cannot view the serial number that is integrated within the installer.

Install Path is the directory where the installation is placed on the end-user's computer.

Create standalone installer causes the configurator to create a standalone installer from the deployment image. The deployment image is kept and used as the basis for change. The standalone installer is created in the provided location. For more information, see Distributing the Installer.

Images tab

The Images tab allows the selection of branding images for the installer. The images are fixed-size bitmap files that customize the user interface of the installer.

Note: For silent installs, the user cannot view the images during the installation process. The images are active during the uninstallation or repair processes.

The fields are populated with Autodesk default images. Each selected image displays PNG or JPG file types.

Top Banner displays in the top left of the installer dialog box. The top banner is a 700 x 70-pixel bitmap image. The source of the image is referenced and copied into the installer during the build.

Logo displays on the right of the Top Banner image. The logo is a 160 x 70-pixel bitmap image. The source of the image is referenced and copied into the installer during the build.

Background displays in the background of most dialog boxes. It is an 860 x 500-pixel bitmap image. The source of the image is referenced and copied into the installer during the build.
