Create

Loft

Skins a surface along a series of profile curves.

Select Surfaces > Loft > to set the Loft Options.

Planar

Creates a planar (flat) surface within a boundary curve.

Select Surfaces > Planar > to set the Planar Options.

Revolve

Sweeps out a surface by revolving a profile curve around a pivot point.

Select Surfaces > Revolve > to set the Revolve Options.

Birail

Creates a surface by sweeping between a series of profile curves along two path curves. The resulting surface can maintain continuity with other surfaces. The Birail Tool has options for sweeping 1, 2, or 3 (or more) cross sectional curves along the two path (rail) curves. The resulting surface is interpolated through the profile curves.

Select Surfaces > Birail > Birail 1 Tool/Birail 2 Tool/Birail 3+ Tool > to set the Birail Options.

Extrude

Creates a surface by sweeping a profile curve along a path curve.

Select Surfaces > Extrude > to set the Extrude Surfaces Options.

Boundary

Creates a surface by filling between boundary curves.

Select Surfaces > Boundary > to set the Boundary Options.

Square

Creates a four-sided surface by filling a region defined by four intersecting boundary curves. The resulting surface can maintain continuity with surrounding surfaces depending on the options set. In order for a square surface to be created, the four boundary curves must intersect, and you must select the curves in either a clockwise or counter-clockwise direction. You can ensure the curves intersect by snapping their end points to a common grid line, or by magnet snapping the end point of one curve to the end point of another.

Select Surfaces > Square > to set the Square Options.

Bevel

Creates beveled transition surfaces from a profile curve.

Select Surfaces > Bevel > to set the Bevel Surfaces Options.

Bevel Plus

Lets you create beveled transition surfaces with a much higher degree of control than regular Bevel.

Select Surfaces > Bevel Plus > to set the Bevel Plus Options.

Edit NURBS Surfaces

Duplicate NURBS Patch

Creates new surfaces from the selected NURBS patches.

Select Surfaces > Duplicate NURBS Patch > to set the Duplicate NURBS Patches Options.

Align

Makes the edges of surfaces tangent or curvature continuous.

Select Surfaces > Align > to set the Align Surfaces Options.

Attach

Joins two surfaces together into a single surface.

Select Surfaces > Attach > to set the Attach Surfaces Options.

Attach WIthout Moving

Attaches the selected curves or surfaces by reshaping their ends, rather than moving the objects.

Detach

Splits a surface into multiple surfaces at the selected isoparms.

Select Surfaces > Detach > to set the Detach Surfaces Options.

Move Seam

Moves the seam of a closed/periodic surface to the selected isoparm.

Open/Close

Converts a surface between open and closed/periodic.

Select Surfaces > Open/Close > to set the Open/Close Surface Options.

Intersect

Creates curves on surface wherever two surfaces intersect.

Select Surfaces > Intersect > to set the Intersect Surfaces Options.

Project Curve on Surface

Creates curves-on-surface by projecting a 3D curve onto a surface.

Select Surfaces > Project Curve on Surface > to set the Project Curve on Surface Options.

Trim Tool

Hides parts of the surface defined by curves-on-surface.

Select Surfaces > Trim Tool > to set the Trim Tool Options.

Untrim

Undoes the last trim or all trims to a surface.

Select Surfaces > Untrim > to set the Untrim Options.

Extend

Extends an edge of a surface.

Select Surfaces > Extend > to set the Extend Surface Options.

Insert Isoparms

Adds an edit point isoparm at the selected isoparm.

Select Surfaces > Insert Isoparms > to set the Insert Isoparms Options.

Offset

Creates a copy of the selected surface, offset a certain distance.

Select Surfaces > Offset > to set the Offset Surface Options.

Round Tool

Creates rounded transition surfaces along the edges between existing surfaces.

Select Surfaces > Round Tool > to set the Round Tool Options.

Stitch

Lets you stitch points, edges, or surfaces together.

Surface Fillet

Creates a fillet surface (Fillet Blend Tool), a circular fillet surface (Circular Fillet), or a fillet surface with configurable bias (Freeform Fillet) between two existing surfaces.

Sculpt Geometry Tool

Use this tool to sculpt NURBS, polygons, and subdivision surfaces.

Surface Editing

Attaches a manipulator to the surface you click that lets you set the position and shape at arbitrary points on the surface.

Select Surfaces > Surface Editing > Surface Editing Tool > to set the Surface Editing Tool Options.

Booleans

Trims two surfaces to create the appearance of boolean operations.

Select Surfaces > Booleans > Union Tool/Difference Tool/Intersection Tool > to set the NURBS Boolean Options.

Rebuild

Performs various operations on the selected surface.

Select Surfaces > Rebuild > to set the Rebuild Surface Options.

Reverse Direction

Reverses or swaps the U and V directions of the selected surface.

Select Surfaces > Reverse Direction > to set the Reverse Surface Direction Options.
