This tutorial provides step-by-step instructions to analyze a fiber-filled radiator tank model. First, a finite element model is prepared using Inventor Nastran. Next, Advanced Material Exchange is used to map results from Moldflow to the structural model. Finally, the structural analysis of the radiator tank is performed and results are viewed in Inventor Nastran.
The radiator tank part is made with the Extron 3019 HS glass fiber-reinforced material. The model has already been simulated in Moldflow using a Fill + Pack analysis to determine the orientations of the fiber-filled part.
The models used in this tutorial are available for download here.
