Individual Tool menu

Use the individual Tool menu to manage and edit the selected tool.

To display the menu, in the Explorer, right-click an individual tool.

Activate — When selected, activates this tool and de-activates any currently active tool. When deselected, de-activates this tool.

Settings — Select to display the Tool dialog.

You can edit the white fields, but not the grey fields. The editable fields depend on whether the tool is used in a toolpath or not. If it is, you cannot edit the tool, shank, or holder geometry. If the tool is not used to create a toolpath you can edit all the fields.

Draw — When selected, displays the tool. Deselect to "hide" it. This option toggles between and .

Add to — Use the Add to options to add the tool to various branches in the Explorer.

Rename — Select to rename the entity.

View — Use the View options to change the view to be relative to the tool instead of the active workplane.

Shaded — When selected, displays a shaded tool. When deselected draws a wireframe tool.

Draw Shank — When selected, displays the tool shank.

Draw Holder — When selected, displays the tool holder. When you draw the holder, the shank is also drawn.

Edit — Select to display the Copy Tool option. When you copy a tool, the new tool has same name as the original tool with the suffix _1. You can edit the new tool by right-clicking the tool and selecting Settings.

Dynamic machine control — Click to enter the Dynamic machine control mode. The mode enables you to simulate and adjust the configuration and tool axis of a 3+2 machine tool, so you can quickly and easily improve the machine tool's access to the workpiece.

Add Tool to Database — Select to display the Tool Database Export dialog. The dialog enables you to export the tool to the tool database so you can reuse the tool in the future.

Change Tool Stock Material — Select to specify the stock material for tools in the current project. This displays the Tool Stock Material dialog.

Unlock Tool — Select to edit a tool used by a calculated toolpath.

Note: Unlocking the tool invalidates the toolpaths that use the tool.

Remove From Folder — Select to remove the tool from the current folder.

Delete Tool — Select to delete the tool.
