Creating hatching

To create hatching:

  1. Create a drawing or open an existing drawing.
  2. Click Annotation tab > Hatch panel > Pattern.
  3. Select a hatch pattern from the split button menu.

To use an existing user-defined hatch:

    1. Click Annotation tab > Hatch panel > Pattern > User to display the User Defined Hatch Patterns dialog.
    2. Select a pattern and click OK.
  4. Select the hatch boundary on the items in your drawing.
  5. Use the Create Hatch toolbar to create the hatched region.

This toolbar is similar to the one used for creating a composite curve by tracing, except the 'turn left at branch' is the default option on the Create Hatch control panel. This option can help you to quickly create a hatch boundary if you select the first object carefully.

Note: If you select a composite curve, the Create Hatch control panel is not displayed and the hatch is automatically created.
