Use the Pipe Fitting tool to add flanges to a piping system. Before displaying flanges, you must specify the default flange type in the Routing Preferences dialog.
- In the Project Browser, open the view where you want to place the flange.
- In the Project Browser, expand FamiliesPipesPipe Types.
- Right-click a pipe type, and click Type Properties.
- In the Type Properties dialog, under Segments and Fittings, for Routing Preferences, click Edit.
- In the Routing Preferences dialog, specify the default flange fitting type used with the selected pipe type.
For details, see
Specify Routing Preferences for Pipe.
- Click OK twice.
- Click Systems tabPlumbing & Piping panel Pipe Fitting.
- In the Type Selector, select a flange type.
Note: The flange that is selected in the Type Selector is drawn in the model regardless of what type of fitting the pipe connects to. The size of the drawn flange depends on the size of the pipe. Ensure that you select the correct fittings and flange type in the Type Properties so that they fit correctly.
- Select a pipe end/fitting to connect the flange to.
