Rebar Coupler Type Properties

View and modify the parameters that define the type properties of rebar coupler elements.

To change type properties, select an element and click Modify tabProperties panel (Type Properties). Changes to type properties apply to all instances in the project.

Construction
End Treatment 1 Specifies the end treatment type at the primary end of the coupler. See About Reinforcement End Treatments.
End Treatment 2 Specifies the end treatment type at the secondary end of the coupler. See About Reinforcement End Treatments.
Bar Size 1 Specifies the rebar diameter for the primary end of the coupler.
Bar Size 2 Specifies the rebar diameter for the secondary end of the coupler.
Materials and Finishes
Material Specifies the material to use with the coupler.
Dimensions  
External Diameter Specifies the diameter of the coupler at its outermost surface.
Symbol Width Specifies the width of the symbolic representation of the coupler in plan views.
Symbol Length Specifies the length of the symbolic representation of the coupler in plan views.
Total Length Specifies the length of the coupler.
Bar Engagement 1 Specifies the minimum thread engagement for the primary end of the coupler.
Bar Engagement 2 Specifies the minimum thread engagement for the secondary end of the coupler.
Identity Data
Type Image Displays a user-defined image file that represents the element. See About Managing Images.
Keynote The keynote text. See Keynotes.
Model The manufacturer internal number.
Manufacturer The rebar coupler manufacturer.
Type Comments Comments about the coupler type. This information can be included in a schedule.
URL Specifies a link to a web page that contains type-specific information. Click the icon to establish a link.
Description An optional description of the rebar coupler type.
Assembly Description The uniformat classification for the currently selected assembly code.
Assembly Code Specifies the uniformat assembly code.
Type Mark A type-specific label used, for example, as a shop mark. This value must be unique for each element in a project. Revit warns you if the value is in use, but allows you to continue using it. You can see the warning using the Review Warnings command. See Reviewing Warning Messages.
Cost The user-defined cost of the rebar coupler.
OmniClass Number The number from Table 23 of the OmniClass Construction Classification System that best categorizes the family type.
OmniClass Title The name from Table 23 of the OmniClass Construction Classification System that best categorizes the family type.

P1 The thickness of the mounting plate in the formsaver coupler. This is a user configurable type parameter of the family.
P2 The width of the mounting plate in the formsaver coupler in plan views. This is a user configurable, formula driven type parameter of the family.
P3 The width of the mounting plate in the formsaver coupler in 3D views. This is a user configurable, formula driven type parameter of the family.
