Weld Instance Properties

Modify weld instance properties to change thickness, location, length, pitch, and more.

To change instance properties, select the element and change its properties on the Properties palette.

Name Description
Structural
Main Type Specifies the type of the main weld.
Main Thickness Specifies the thickness of the main weld.
Length Specifies the length of the main weld joint.
Location Specifies where the weld is placed. Either Site, Shop, or None.
Continuous Specifies that the weld is a continuous weld. This is cleared by default.
Pitch Specifies the distance between the segment centers on one side of the joint.
Main Text Specifies a user defined attribute for the main weld that is used in annotation.
Surface Shape Specifies the prepared surface shape at the main weld joint.
Main Weld preparation Specifies special weld preparation requirements at the main weld joint.
Main Root Opening Specifies the gap at the main weld joint root.
Main Effective Throat Specifies the effective throat size of the weld.
Main Preparation Depth Specifies the preparation depth at the weld joint.
Double Type Specifies the double weld type at the joint.
Double Thickness (Double welds only) Specifies the thickness of the double weld.
Double Text (Double welds only) Specifies a user defined attribute for the double weld that is used in annotation.
Double Surface Shape (Double welds only) Specifies the prepared surface shape at the double weld joint.
Double Weld preparation (Double welds only) Specifies special weld preparation requirements at the double weld joint.
Double Root Opening (Double welds only) Specifiesthe gap at the double weld jointroot.

Text Module Specifies the standardization method of the annotation text labels.
Prefix Specifies a prefix to be used in annotation text labels.

Image

Associates an image with the selected element instance. Click the value field and then the browse button to open the Manage Images dialog. See Manage Images Dialog.

Comments User comments for the element.
Mark

A label created for the element. Possible use: shop mark. This value must be unique for each element in a project. Revit warns you if the number is already used but allows you to continue using it. You can see the warning using the Review Warnings tool. See Review Warning Messages.
