Create a New Vault File with Data Standard

Create a new standard file in the Vault client.

Important: New files cannot be created with Data Standard unless the Templates folder, or another folder specified by your administrator, is created and at least one file template has been added.

Note: Creating new standard files is a default Data Standard feature. Your Administrator may have removed or modified this option.

1. Right-click on any file in the Vault Client and select New Standard File.
   Note: Vault Office Client users can only create data standard sheets for non-CAD files.
2. Select a template from the list and fill in the information for the data sheet.
   Note: Vault Office Client users will only see non-CAD templates, such as Word Document, Excel Sheet, and PowerPoint Presentation.
3. Click OK to save your changes and finish creating the new file based on the specified template.
