Genotype Creator

This editor allows you to create and modify the types of seeds propagated by a MASH World cluster simulation.
1 - Create Genotype / Update Sim Adds a new genotype and updates the MASH simulation with any recently added / changed genotype values respectively.
2 - Genotype Summary Displays all existing genotypes. Select a genotype to display its attribute values in the right panel.

Right-click to display a menu that allows you to add new genotypes, change label colors, access presets, randomize genotype values, rename or duplicate genotypes, or delete an existing genotype.

3 - Genotype Attributes Displays the attribute values for the selected genotype.

Genotype attributes

Max. Age

Determines the maximum age of a tree (in simulated years) before it dies.

Seed Age

Determines the age (in simulated years) at which a tree starts dropping seeds.

Seed count

Determines how many seeds a tree will drop per year.

Growth rate

Determines how the tree scales up each year.

Model size

Specifies the size (in world units) of the tree. Try to match this as close as possible to the size of base object representing this genotype.

Slope threshold

Determines the maximum steepness upon which trees will grow. Lowering this value increases the likelihood of trees growing on steeper hills.

Rand Variance

A randomizer for the previous attributes that applies on an object by object basis.

Temperature

Determines the air temperature of the simulation. Trees will grow better in more temperate climates.

Soil Quality

Determines the amount of nutrients in the soil. Trees will grow better in higher quality soils.

Moisture

Determines the amount of moisture in the air. Trees will grow better in more moist environments.

Resiliance

Determines the heartiness of the trees. The higher the resilience, the more likely a tree is to make it to its Max. Age.

Object ID
Determines which object ID that will represent the genotype.
Min ID, Min ID

Specifies the range of object IDs that will represent the genotype as they age. If these values are not 0 then they are prioritized over Object ID.

ID Color
Assigns a color to the genotype to help with identification.

Genotype marking menu

You can right-click a specific genotype to open the genotype marking menu.

Menu Item Effect
Add Genotype Adds a new genotype to the list (same as Create Genotype).
Label Color Determines the label color that appears next to the genotype name in the Genotype Editor.
Note: Not the same as the ID Color.
Presets Loads preset genotype attribute values into the selected genotype.
Randomize Assigns random values to the genotype attributes.
Automatically Set Model Size Automatically populates the Model Size attribute based on the Instancer.
Rename Assign a new name to the selected genotype.
Duplicate Create a copy of the selected genotype.
Delete Remove the selected genotype.
