About Connectors in Families
Connectors, attached to families, are used to connect the family to duct, piping, electrical, and other systems.
Part Types
The Part Type parameter provides additional subclassification of a family category, and determines the behavior for the parts in the family.
Classification
The Classification property identifies a type of mechanical equipment family.
Place a Connector
In a family, place a connector on a face or on a work plane.
Select a Primary Connector
The first connector that you place for a specific type is assigned as the primary connector, but you can change the connector assignment at any time.
Pick a New Host
You can rehost an MEP connector on a face or work plane while working in the Family Editor.
Orient a Connector
When connectors are added, you must verify that connector arrows point in the direction from which other components can connect.
Link Connectors
Connectors can be linked together to designate flow through the family.
Unlink Connectors
Open the family, and use the Remove Link tool to unlink 2 connectors.
Delete a Connector
Open the family, select the connector, and use the Delete tool to remove the connector.
