Before using
Generative Design in Revit, read the following to learn about some logistics.
- Processing:
Generative Design runs on your local computer, not in the cloud. It uses parallel threads, so it won't block your work in the
Revit model. Memory and CPU are the two factors that most affect performance while outcomes are being generated. While you wait, you can continue to work in
Revit or other applications.
- Managing studies: After creating a study, you cannot copy or edit it. However, you can use the same study type to create a new study with different parameters. Delete the old study if desired.
- Examples: For specific instructions on how to use each of the sample study types, see
Sample Study Types. For each study type, see the instructions under "Preparing the model" for a link to download a model that you can use to experiment with the study type.
