To Convert AutoCAD Entities to Profile Sub-Entities

Convert an AutoCAD line or spline to a profile sub-element. AutoCAD lines and curves can be created using the best fit elements or similar commands.

The converted sub-element becomes part of the solved profile geometry if either of the following two conditions are met:

• Before it is converted, it must be attached to an unattached end point of another solved element in the profile.
• After it has been converted, it may be joined to the solved profile geometry using the profile layout tools.

1. Create a profile view or select an existing profile view.
2. Set the profile view style vertical exaggeration to 1.
3. Click the profile. Click Profile tabModify Profile panelGeometry Editor Find.
4. On the Profile Layout Tools toolbar, click Convert AutoCAD Line And Spline.
5. Select the AutoCAD element.

Note: If the sub-element you converted is hidden behind the source AutoCAD element, use Shift+spacebar to select it. Hover the cursor over the white AutoCAD element. Press and hold Shift, then press the spacebar to highlight the profile sub-element. Click to select the profile sub-element, then release the Shift key. Click the profile sub-element again to select it and continue with the command.
