To Work With Profile VIPs

Manage the levels and gradients along a layout profile or static surface profile by editing the vertical intersection points (VIPs). Adjusting the number and location of VIPs allows you to make major changes to a layout profile, such as removing vertical curves and changing straight gradients.

You can lock a VIP at a specific chainage and level so that it cannot be moved by edits to adjacent elements. This is often done in junctions, where a side road profile is locked to the crown and edge-of-pavement levels of the main road. If you unlock a dynamic VIP for one road in an junction, you break the link to the profile of the other road.

You can also move VIPs with editing grips.
