Creating User Groups and Users (Enterprise Industry Models)

After installation, there is one default user, Administrator, who is a member of the ADMIN user group. For enterprise industry models only, you can create more user groups with different access rights, such as VIEWER and EDITOR. Create a user for each person who works with the enterprise industry model, such as Mr. Smith or Ms. Miller.

Note: You can change the default password for the Administrator.

Define user groups and assign access rights

Create user groups with specific rights and add users to the group.

You can create as many user groups as necessary and define their rights in detail. In addition to data access rights, a user group has access to specific projects.

Mr. Baker is a member of the EDITOR and VIEWER groups. As an editor, he can access two projects. As a viewer he can access one project.

Create users for the project and grant them access rights

Define unique personal logins for each user and assign users to appropriate user groups. You can assign one user to multiple user groups.

Assign user group priority

A user assigned to multiple user groups has the highest privilege allowed by those groups. When a single choice of group needs to be made, priority is determined by the order in which the user groups appear in the Assigned Groups box. See “To create a user,” below.
