The goal of this analysis is to introduce you to the explicit dynamics analysis setup for a simple beam subjected to a pulse load. Although the beam is solid, it will be idealized as a thin shell finite element model, fixed at the base and loaded at the tip.
The units used in this analysis are inches, pounds and seconds (in-lb-s).
