A flag symbol, like an arrow symbol, indicates the direction of the flow. The flag symbol displays the drawing area, spec, and service. In your drawings, you can use arrow symbols, flag symbols, or both.
Follow these guidelines when using flags:
- If you change the direction of flow of a line, the flag symbol adjusts to indicate the new direction of flow. The text adjusts to read from left-to-right or from bottom-to-top. Changing the flag direction does not alter the flow direction of the pipe line.
- In a KKS environment, the tag number for the pipe line appears on two levels in the flag symbol. On the first level, within the flag, are the Unit, System Code, and System Number properties. On the second level, between the flag and the pipe line, are the Function Key Code and Component Number. Regardless of the orientation and position of the flag on the line, the component identification code and component number always appear closest to the pipe line.
