After adding a coordination model, you can place multiple instances to add context to your design.
You can use the Place Instance tool of the Manage Links dialog
Coordination Model tab to do the following:
- To place duplicate copies of the coordination model to plan the positioning of repeating units. You can mirror the instances as needed for the design. If you have loaded multiple coordination models, you can use the Type Selector to change the type for each instance, exploring the placement of each type of coordination model in the context of the entire project.
- To place an instance of the coordination model in the context of the Revit model (but the coordination model is still loaded).
- To explore different positions for the coordination model in the content of the Revit model. You can do this after you move the initial instance of the coordination model away from the survey point or the internal origin.
To place an instance
- Select the coordination model and click Modify| Coordination Model tab Coordination panel
(Manage Links).
OR
Click Manage tabManage Project panel
(Manage Links).
- In the Manage Links dialog Coordination Model tab, select the coordination model.
- From the Place Instance drop-down, for positioning, select an option:
- Origin to Origin to align the origin of the coordination model with the internal origin of the Revit model.
- Shared Coordinates to align the models based on shared coordinates.
- Click OK.
- (Optional) Select the linked model, move it to the desired location, and pin it in place so it is not inadvertently moved out of place.
