Use snap points to easily model in context, to measure between two references based on the coordination model points, or to better position the coordination model.
To enable snap points for coordination model objects:
- In the Manage tab Settings panel, click
(Snaps).
- In the Snaps dialog, check the box next to Snap to Coordination Models.
Note: Make sure you also check the box next to Points.
- Click OK.
Considerations when working with coordination model snap points:
- Coordination model points are available only at the ends of the coordination model objects, similar to end points.
- Based on how the coordination model objects were modeled, joined or cut by other coordination model objects, snap points might not be displayed all the time.
- Coordination model points do not display midpoints, quadrants, intersections, centers, tangents, perpendicular, etc.
- Make sure you check the boxes next to both the Points and the Snap to Coordination Models options.
- Snap to Coordination Models is available in 3D views only if the coordination model objects are placed on the active work plane.
- Snap to Coordination Model override is not currently working.
- Lines, grids and levels in Coordination Models have several snap points along their length.
- Coordination Model snap points are sometimes temporarily unavailable after creating an element (e.g. line).
- Snap points cannot be used to place dimensions on coordination model objects, the objects can only be measured using the Measure tool.
