When you select a fabrication part in the
Revit drawing area, the Modify | Fabrication Parts tab provides options for modifying a run of fabrication parts
-
Slope: provides access to the Slope Editor and slope control tools for sloping MEP fabrication pipe parts. See
Apply Slope to Fabrication Pipework.
- Change Service: opens the change service editor to change the selected fabrication parts to a different service.
- Change Size: opens the change size editor to modify the size of the selected fabrication parts when they are from different services.
-
Optimize Lengths: optimizes the straight lengths of generic ductwork, containing no more than six couplings, by adding or modifying lengths of straight segments.
The ability to optimize lengths is determined by settings in the fabrication part configuration. If the Minimum Stretch Length for the fabrication part is set to 0 in the
Item Properties dialog, then the Optimize Lengths command uses the Min Straight Len setting defined on the Stretch tab in
CAD Settings. If the Minimum Stretch Length for the fabrication part is set to something other than 0, then the Optimize Lengths commands uses that value and ignores the Min Straight Len setting defined in CAD Settings for the fabrication configuration.
Note: If a straight is pinned or part of a palette, it will not be optimized.
-
Show Service: enables the service and palette in the MEP Fabrication Parts palette for the selected part, so you can easily place additional parts. See
Show the Service for a Fabrication Part.
- Route and Fill: provides one or more solutions to fill a gap in a fabrication run.
-
Edit Part: opens the
Edit Part dialog where you can edit parameters for dimensions and connectors.
- Attach to Structure: attaches the selected hanger to a structural element. Structural categories include floor, roof, structure framing (such as beam or truss), stairs, and slabs.
-
Rotate 45 Degrees / Rotate 90 Degrees / Rotate 180 Degrees: rotates the selected fitting around its connector in 45, 90, or 180 degree increments.
-
Toggle Connector: modifies which open connector is attached to the cursor during placement.
When the MEP Fabrication Part palette is displaying, you can also use the Multi-Point Routing tool to automatically add parts to an existing run or part by clicking points in the model. See
Use the Multi-Point Routing Tool.
