Problem Description

This model uses two solid planes separated by a 1 meter fluid space. Both planes are 0.1 meters thick.

The heat transfer by radiation is calculated as:

Geometry and Boundary Conditions

The thermal loads include a specified temperature of 333 Kelvin on the outside surface of one plate. On the outside surface of the other plate, a wall film coefficient of 1.0 and an ambient temperature of 273 Kelvin is applied.

Results

We use the resultant temperatures on the outside surface of plate 2 and the inside surface of plate 2 in the equations given above to compute the heat due to radiation and convection. The difference between the two values is compared.
