Once the Calculation Options dialog box is opened for RC beams / columns and the Romanian RC code, the General tab includes additionally the following options:
In the case of the STAS code, in the Calculation Options dialog box the user may switch on the Seismic dispositions option - depending on the plasticity rate:
None (no seismic requirements)
Moderate plasticity (selection of a seismic zone: from A to F)
High plasticity (selection of a seismic zone: from A to F)
Moreover, for the Moderate and High plasticity the user may switch on the option Consider plastic moments for shear. This option allows calculation of a shear force according to the points 5.3.3.2 and 5.3.3.3 of the STAS 10107/0-90 code.
It is also possible to choose a group that a calculated column should belong to:
After pressing the Advanced button the program opens the Advanced Options dialog box which allows switching on the Shear considered option.
Furthermore, it is possible to select a type of the calculated column: inner, outer, corner.
For each column type different coefficients are assumed.
The user may select a number of stories in a building and a number of a story for which calculations will be performed. It is of importance when evaluating the critical zone length in a column - see section 5.3.4.2.2(10) of the code.
For the STAS code it is allowed for to select a code determining material parameters of steel and concrete (see: Remarks concerning characteristic values of materials for the Romanian code).
In the case of continuous footings it is possible to switch on seismic requirements (as for RC beams).
