To create an On-the-Fly Surface Group

Use an On-the-Fly Surface Group to measure surfaces by probing points at random during the inspection.

Note: You cannot play On-the-fly Surface groups on OMV machines. To create a measured group, add points using the Point sources tab.

To create an On-the-fly Surface Group:

1. Select the Definition level in the inspection sequence.
2. Click Form tab > Surfaces panel > On-the-Fly. The Inspection Group: Surface Points dialog is displayed.
3. Edit the group settings, and then click OK to close the dialog and create the group.
4. Play the group. PowerInspect switches to full-screen mode and displays the Surface Points on-the-fly dialog.
5. Probe the points on the surface you want to inspect. When you have finished, click to close the dialog.
