About PowerInspect reports

Once a part has been inspected, a report of measurement results displays in the Report tab of the Graphics window. You can save, print, or export the report.

Report templates

PowerInspect comes with an assortment of customizable HTML and Excel report templates. Featuring a variety of headers, the templates format inspection results and customer information. You can export an HTML report as a browser-viewable web archive or PDF file. Export an Excel report as a spreadsheet.

Images

A report can include a snapshot of the current image in the CAD View tab of the Graphics window. You specify the zoom factor, position, and orientation you want to show in the report. All linear, circular, and angular dimension labels you create in the CAD view are captured in the image for the report.

Notes

Add extra information to a report by inserting a Report Note. Formatting controls allow you to choose a font and background colour, include numbered and bulleted lists, and insert images. You can edit in either plain text or HTML mode. By default, a note applies to all measures, but you can specify a note for each measure.

Inclusion and placement of items

All measurement items, images, and notes are shown in the Sequence Tree, where you can specify whether or not to include an item in a report. By dragging an item up or down in the Sequence Tree, you determine its relative placement in a report. For example, you can place a CAD view image exactly where you want it to appear.

Customization

Templates allow you to specify the values for fields for customer information, datum, description, and drawing information. Choose whether to display the probed points of measured items. You can also change the colours that indicate the tolerance status of measurements. Select between high and low resolution of images and determine whether to display the backgrounds of screenshots. You can further customize a template with the Template Editor, located in the Autodesk PowerInspect folder. For example, you can use the Template Editor to add a company logo to the header area.
