To change sub-assemblies using racks

Change sub-assemblies using the Probe View.

When you change the active tool in the Probe View, or run an inspection sequence containing Probe and Parameters items that specify a change of probe tool, PowerInspect can change the tool using a rack. To do this, the active tool and its replacement must both use sub-assemblies allocated to specific ports within a rack.

Tip: Use the Probe View to store sub-assemblies in a rack for the first time. This ensures that the sub-assemblies are stored in their allocated ports correctly.
  1. In the Probe View, double-click the probe tool in the Tool Collection list. The tool is displayed in bold under the Head to indicate it is active.
  2. If a sub-assembly change can be performed, a message is displayed.
  3. Click Yes to make the change automatically or No to make the change manually.

If automatic, PowerInspect starts the sub-assembly change and displays the progress in the Rack Change Status message. When the change is complete, the message closes and the new probe tool is shown in the Probe View.

To cancel the change, click Stop and then click Cancel in the Rack Change Status message.
