Dynamo Player improvements

It is now possible to control the visibility of Dynamo Player tool window elements in Alias from the Dynamo side. This way, if a certain option in the script is set, currently not needed input elements of the script can be removed from the UI, making scripts easier to use.

Dynamo Toolbox updates

The Dynamo Toolbox has been restructured to limit the amount of scripts per tab. This makes it easier for you to locate the scripts you want to use. This improvement also includes changes to the way scripts are organized in the toolbox tabs. We added new File Import and Export sections for all related scripts. Some existing scripts, such as the Import CSV file as Polyline and Export to TSM scripts are now located there. We've also created new import and export related scripts, which you can find in the new section. We have also added General Edit and Subdivision Edit tabs and moved all scripts that modify geometry as opposed to creating geometry to these new sections.

New Dynamo Player scripts

File Import and Export

We have created scripts to import .TSS, .TSM and .SAT files, as well as scripts to export .TSS and .SAT files. The existing export TSM has been updated to be work the same way as the new ones, which all handle automatic file name extension now (.tss, .tsm, .sat), if needed.

General

Mirror-by-Object(s)-2025.0.1-mrbobj.dyn, Mirror-by-Plane-2025.0.1-mrbpln.dyn - These scripts mirror input geometry across a plane based on a given planar surface. This is an easier workflow than the native Alias mirroring tools. In this case, the mirror planes are not the standard ones (XY, YZ, XZ).

Patterning

• Subdivision Pipe Pattern 2025.0.1.dyn - Creates a hexagonal pattern of entwined pipes on a given surface.
• MSP by Surface 2025.0.4-mspbsf.dyn - Projects and aligns selected input geometry onto one or more reference surfaces using a given surface and a point pattern as the basis for the projection.
• Nurbs Surface from Curve 2025.0.7-sfbycv.dyn - Using a NURBS curve as guidance, this script creates a NURBS surface of the wanted dimension on one or more target surfaces. This created surface can then be used as Target Reference for the Alias Feature Modifier tool.
• Nurbs Surfaces by Isolines 2025.0.4-sfbyiso.dyn - Taking a single surface and points on it as input, this script creates surfaces of the wanted dimension on the given surface. These surfaces can then be used as Target References for the Alias Feature Modifier tool.

Improvements to Dynamo Player scripts

General

• Manikin 2023.1.1.90-mankn.dyn - Improved general shape and added the following controls: Body shape types male and female and Neck. You can now orient some body parts by using geometry, such as planes and points, for alignment.

Patterning

• Nurbs Hexagon Pattern 2021.2.9-nr hxg.dyn - Min and Max values for some parameters now have greater influence. In previous versions, adjustments to Min and Max values often had no noticeable effects.
• Place and Scale by Picture 2025.0.16 - Fixed an issue where individual curves inputs often didn't work.

Alias updated to Dynamo 3.0

We've updated Alias to Dynamo version 3.0.
