About Nozzles

You can add and modify nozzles on equipment directly in the model.

Add Nozzles

You can add and modify nozzles on equipment directly in the model.

After you have created or modified equipment, you can select the equipment in the model and use the Add Nozzle grip () to add a nozzle.

On fabricated equipment as well as converted 3D solids, you can add nozzles and specify their types, properties, positions, directions, and dimensions.

Edit Nozzles

You can use the Edit Nozzle grip to access extended options. These options allow more precise modifications to an existing nozzle.

Note: The PLANTEDITALLNOZZLES system variable controls whether the Edit Nozzle grip is enabled for fabricated equipment in 3D models. This setting is enabled by default. If it is disabled, hold down the Ctrl key and select a nozzle to show the Edit Nozzle grip.
Use the flyout menu to access various options for modifying individual nozzles.
  • Change Size: Selects a different nozzle size.
  • Change Pressure Class: Selects a different pressure class.
  • Change End Type: Selects a different end type.
  • Edit Nozzle: Opens the Edit Nozzle dialog box for more detailed modifications.
Note:
  • Nozzles are sub-objects. Hold Ctrl to select them individually. Press Ctrl+Del to remove a selected nozzle.
  • You can modify pump nozzles, but not add or remove them.
  • On parametric equipment, you can provide only dimension values for nozzles. The number and position of nozzles are fixed.
