Channels

Add and modify channels to your drainage system model.

Stormwater control channels are engineered waterways designed to prevent flooding and erosion in urban and roadside environments. These open-air canals, often trapezoidal and reinforced with vegetation or riprap, safely transport excess stormwater to rivers or other bodies of water, effectively reducing erosion and sediment buildup.

Sketch channels as feature lines along with your existing gravity pipe network and assign parameters such as section geometry and analysis data such as inflows and outlets.

Important: All drainage objects within a release (including ponds, underground storage, and channels) use a unified version for easier management. This object version implementation allows for methods to design a drainage system across teams without updating a drawing to a software release. An object's features are contingent on what version it in which it was created in what version it is open. Objects can be upgraded on command to leverage features in newer versions of Civil 3D.
